Today’s Tough Love:
I’m about to ruin some of your lives. 😂
Self care is NOT all massage and facials and “me time”.
There’s also a reason why you may not be feeling genuinely relaxed and refreshed after those massages, facials, and “me time”.
Don’t get me wrong: I love all those things.
But self care is also:
💆🏼♀️learning to navigate your emotions
💆🏼♀️learning to process your pain
💆🏼♀️understanding how to work through and release your triggers
💆🏼♀️tuning into the wisdom of your body
💆🏼♀️becoming present with the moment (no matter the moment)
💆🏼♀️learning your own patterns and cycles
💆🏼♀️doing the deep inner work to heal
💆🏼♀️saying “f*ck it” and doing something fun, pleasurable, joyful
(even though it feels counterintuitive to what you “need to do” right now)
💆🏼♀️taking the step to hire the coach, mentor, or guide to help you with all of the above
Self care is really about understanding your TRUE relationship with yourself and learning how to relate to yourself in a new way.
Most of us only think we know ourselves…
…when what we’re really acquainted with is an amalgamation of habitual patterns, habits, and survival mechanisms that we’ve become addicted to over the years…and we *think* that’s who we really are and how it really is.
Keep up the massages, facials, and “me time”…..
And make sure that you’re also tending to the inside.
That is real “self care”
