Today’s Tough Love: What’s your daily diet?
I don’t just mean the food you eat, though that definitely counts.
I mean what you are consuming every day?
When you wake up in the morning, what’s the first thing you “consume” with your eyes and ears?
Are you in the doom scroll hole, reading all about the terrible things going on in the world?
Are you constantly being sucked into the negative spiral?
Are you spending more time scrolling and zoning out than feeling and connecting?
We don’t always think about what we’re consuming with our eyes, ears, and energy throughout the day.
And don’t get me wrong - I’m not sticking my head in the sand about the awful things that happen in the world. But what I am saying is that there’s a difference in being AWARE of what’s going on and being CONSUMED by consuming it. And your emotional state will reflect which one you’re in.
The more you consume and focus on the negative, the more your entire way of viewing the world will be painted with that brush.
Again - it’s not about denying reality.
It *is* about resourcing yourself inside in order to show up to your life in the most balanced and positive way you can. Because THAT is how we actually create the change in the world, one step at a time.
Being consumed by the negative news and energy will only serve to pull us down. And when we’re down, we can’t create any kind of positive impact around us.
